Hubpages may just be the motivator to write down the many pieces of my memories.  Memories of a 30-something dragging his family to the newly-opened wilds of Papua New Guinea's highlands.  Other memories of the tumultuous two years (1990-1992) that bridge the demise of the Soviet Union and the birth of the Republic of Kazakhstan.  Those are the dramatic pieces.  I want my writing to go deeper than a travelogue.  To reflect on some of the insights obtained. Then I have other projects that have little to do with travel in exotic places.  But I want to get these written for myself, my family and others who might find some value in learning from what I have learned.
